It’s an eco-responsible material treated with a pest control additive that can stop bugs in their tracks. How Does Insulation Help With Pest Control?

The first pest control aspect is mechanical – bugs simply struggle to crawl through this insulation. The other aspect is the pest control additive it uses, which kills the following pests when they ingest it:

• Booklice
• Centipedes
• Crickets
• Darkling beetles
• Earwigs
• Roaches
• Silverfish
• Sow bug

Since this additive can’t “wear off” and pests won’t build up a tolerance to it, you only need to install this insulation once to see the effects work indefinitely. How is Xceptional Wildlife Removal’s Insulation Different from Normal Insulation?

The insulation we use is made of cellulose and 85% recycled paper which is treated with boric acid. Borate is commonly found in household cleaners and is a naturally-occurring mineral. It isn’t harmful to people or animals in these quantities, but will kill the bugs we listed above. Rodents won’t be affected, but bugs won’t survive it.

Whether this is a brand-new installation or we’re spraying over the top of your existing insulation, every service starts with a comprehensive inspection to pinpoint any existing infestations and vulnerabilities in the structure. If we need to do anything else before we can get started, we’ll let you know.

Since every service is unique and tailored to your needs, we can’t give a precise overview here – but broadly speaking, our insulation services go like this:

1. Inspection. We start by inspecting for any existing pest populations and gaps in your structure.
2. Preparation. If we need to perform any other services before the insulation can be installed, we’ll do so. Then, we prepare the area for insulation.
3. Installation. Our insulation is “blown-in,” meaning it’s effectively sprayed over the surface we’re insulating. This allows for complete coverage and efficient application.
4. It’s that simple! After the insulation is installed, we clean up after ourselves.
